Hi Ali,
I also agree that the shots are fantastic and do look completely pro.

Good tips like this will be great.

Also some ideas on how to make nice images in general would be useful.

I often have issues trying to create images for the website as I am not a graphic designer, and often even lack knowing what "style" I am after.

Good luck with the new blog - with quality write-ups like this, I am sure it will be a success.

Ali,
First off - inspirational post - I had never thought of doing something so clever, to produce that excellent shot. I agree with Rob Cubbon that it could have been a stock image!
It's brilliant, so kudos to you for the find!

Thank you JaneRadriges. Sometimes simple methods show unexpected results. It's always worth experimenting.

Thanks Rob. The lighting worked out 100 times better than I imagined and the background was so light the camera didn't need a flash to steady things up. It's taken me a while to get started, but if my blog is half as successful as yours I'd be a happy man. I have quite a few more posts going up in the next few weeks so keep coming back. Anyone wanting the hires files just drop me an email.

Hello Ali, very interesting post. I honestly thought those mice in your header were from a stock image library or something - the reflections and highlights look so slick. It wouldn't surprise me if someone asks you for the high res files! You didn't even use a tripod?
Anyway, fantastic post to start off with. I wish you best of luck with this blog. I'm sure it's going to be great!
